Episode 069: Gorgeous Voices Of Angels | The Los Robles Children’s Choir | Artistic Director Ed Rouse | Exec Director Dana Rouse | Professional Choirs For Kids of 6 Years Old All The Way Through High School | Traveling The World To Showcase Their Talent
Ed Rouse, The Artistic Director of The Los Robles Children’s Choir, originally got interested in music as a young kid, taking piano lessons. He continued to study and play music, even upon entering college, where a professor really had an impact on him and he decided to dedicate his life to music.
He and his wife Dana, the Executive Director of the Choir, took over the daily operations of the Choir in 2012, after Ed heard some gorgeous singing coming from his classroom one day at the school he taught.
The tones and voices drew him in…and the rest is history.
The Los Robles Children’s Choir takes on between 100-130 kids every year, with annual auditions happening during the summer of each year, and various choir groups are formed, based on age and advancement. The Choir travels the world, recently having gone to London, England and just a few weeks ago playing at Carnegie Hall in NYC.
The ability to take a child at 6 years old, teach him how to bring out his talent in voice, and watch that child excel and advance in Choir through the years is nothing but magical, as we can feel from talking to Ed on this episode of the show.
The confidence and building of teamwork is just a natural amazing by product of the program.
AND THEY ARE CELEBRATING THEIR 20TH ANNIVERSARY!!
