Episode 070: Important Advice For Baby Boomers | Senior Concerns | Andrea Gallagher, President | Treating Others The Way They Want To Be Treated
ON THIS EPISODE
Andrea Gallagher, current President at Senior Concerns, was not planning on being so involved in the many issues and concerns of our senior citizen population. But, it started some years ago when Andrea moved to Westlake Village and met a lovely couple, new neighbors on the block. This couple was 83 and 86 when Andrea and her husband met them and from that point forward they were fast friends.
Andrea and her husband would help them around the house, help them buy things, and as they got older, actually stayed with the wife while the husband was in the hospital suffering from a stroke. Amazing people we are dealing with here.
They cared for this couple until their eventual passing on a while back and from that point forward Andrea dedicated herself and her work to the concerns of seniors and now as President of Senior Concerns.
They have some many amazing programs and outreach, I could not image our community without it:
Adult Day Programs – Constantly Fun, Entertaining and Thought Provoking
Meals on Wheels – Over 30,000 Meals Delivered Every Year
Caregiver Support Programs – Providing Support For the Caregivers that are Caring For Our Loved Ones
Community Education – Outreach Education Programs, including Schools.
On-Site Offices at Many of Our Local Senior Facilities, Independent & Assisted Living Facilities
Legal and Financial Advice Services
Fundraising Programs and Events
I take my hat off to Senior Concerns as they are and will become even more important and vital in our community as the community of folks over the age of 85 continues to grow every year.
